EMI Online Training Course Theme Discussion Events
The 2023 Faculty EMI Online Training Courses Project, organized by the Southern Regional Resource Center for Bilingual Education, allowed participants to benefit greatly from the Oxford EMI Self-access Course. To further make use of the resources, the Center plans thematic discussion activities where enrolled teachers will share their insights, providing non-participants with an opportunity to learn from their experiences. Through rich discussions, the events will facilitate the exchange of EMI teaching practices and provide a collaborative space for teachers to address teaching challenges.
- Activity Format: Each session corresponds to one of the four modules of Oxford EMI Self-access Course, including:
(1)Opening: Brief introduction to the module content
(2)Reflection and Application: Two teachers sharing relevant topics
(3)Question and Discussion: Discussions based on the theme of that session

Discussion Focus: Pros and cons of EMI, autonomous learning, promoting classroom interaction, student readiness, inclusion of foreign students
